South Africa is Africa’s youngest democracy, that prides itself of 31 years of freedom and democracy that were ushered-in in 1994 following the defeat of a repressive apartheid system.

Each of the nine provinces that constitute South Africa, has its special offerings, including Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, North West, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape.

As hosts to the 11th P20 Summit and its subsidiary gatherings, the Western Cape and particularly Cape Town at its heart, is a dynamic region where cultures, flavours, and experiences converge. Cape Town experiences mild temperatures in October. The daytime temperatures range from 20OC to 23OC (68OF to 73OF) and at nighttime, they drop to 11OC to 13OC (52OF and 55OF). Some occasional rainfall may be expected.

Most major international currencies can be exchanged at the airport, hotels and nearby banks. Rates of exchange might vary slightly from one institution to another. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels and most shops.
