Media Advisory: Parliament Presiding Officers’ Media Briefing on Hosting of the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit

Parliament, Friday, 26 September 2025 – The Presiding Officers of Parliament, National Assembly Speaker, Ms Thoko Didiza, and Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, will address the media on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, to share details about the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) scheduled for 1 October to 3 October 2025.

The Speakers’ Summit – a historic first for Parliament to host – provides a legislative dimension to global governance, fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation and facilitating engagement between governments, parliaments and other stakeholders in implementing G20 outcomes.

In the lead-up to the Summit, the 2nd P20 Meeting of Women Parliamentarians and the P20 Young Parliamentarians Conference will also be held at the Arabella Hotel from 29 to 30 September 2025.

The 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit, a gathering of Speakers and Presiding Officers from the Group of Twenty (G20) member countries, will be held at the Arabella Hotel in Kleinmond, outside Cape Town.
